About Tasdeaf

Tasdeaf’s Vision & Mission

Tasdeaf’s vision is for an equitable and inclusive Tasmanian community. Our mission is to be the leading provider of services and education to those impacted by hearing loss.

What We Do

The Tasmanian Deaf Society has two areas of operation: Tasdeaf, and its division, Hearing Link Tasmania.
Tasdeaf provides advocacy, interpreting services, Auslan classes, Deaf cultural awareness training and education to workplaces and community support services.

Tasdeaf’s business is to minimise the impact of hearing loss on individuals while improving the quality of life for those who are deaf and as a result may face barriers to participate in community life.

Hearing Link Tasmania (HLT) is the other division that provides a range of services such as workplace screening and assessment, hearing testing and provision of assistive listening devices for hard of hearing people. Hearing Link Tasmania is also active in awareness campaigns about preventing hearing loss.
