Arts Tasmania and Tasdeaf are excited to launch the Captioned Theatre Pilot Project in Tasmania which aims to increase access to the performing arts for Deaf and hard of hearing audiences.
The first theatre show that will provide captions is the Terrapin Puppet Theatre’s show ‘Sleeping Horses Lie.’
We invite you to come and enjoy the captioned theatre shows in Hobart, Burnie & Launceston this June! PLUS there will be free drinks & nibbles after each captioned show for Deaf and hard of hearing audience members!
For more information about the captioned theatre shows, come to an information session at Tasdeaf. Information sessions will be held:
– Hobart Deaf community: Friday 1st June, 6pm – 7pm at Tasdeaf Community Room, 334 Elizabeth St North Hobart
– North West Deaf community: Monday 4th June, 3:30pm – 4:30pm at Burnie Community Health Centre, 11 Jones St Burnie
– Northern Tas Deaf community: Thursday 7th June, 4pm – 5pm at Tasdeaf Community Room, 58 Tamar St Launceston
