To contact police, fire, ambulance emergency services through the NRS
If you have an emergency and need to contact fire, police or ambulance, here are some ways:
- Internet Relay, Captioned Relay - https://relayservice.gov.au/making-a-call/internet-relay/
- SMS Relay - 0423 677 767 ask for Triple Zero (000) and your call will be given priority over non-emergency calls.
- TTY – dial 106 and your call will be given priority; the relay officer will contact your required emergency service and relay your call.
- Video Relay - login to Skype and contact one of the NRS contact names. Note there is no queue priority for Video Relay calls to emergency services.
